Nutritional value of liquid milk
Sri Lanka spend huge amount of money to import milk powder.
Generally, this milk powder has been processed at least six months
before it reaches the consumer. During processing, the nutritional value
and the taste of natural milk is reduced.
Liquid milk is very popular among the people in developed countries
as they understood the value of liquid milk. No milk powder is consumed
in Western countries. Now liquid milk can be processed in a scientific
manner protecting its nutritional value and flavour. This milk can be
used for direct consumption or in preparing value added products.
Well developed new process technology is used to process and package
milk. Long life milk is produced by heating milk to a high temperature
for a short period of time followed by aspectic packaging. Consumers can
use this milk without refrigeration and keep more than a month, enjoying
its taste and freshness.
