SLT Group profit tops Rs. 4.8 b for nine months

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) released its Group and Company financial results for the nine months ended September 30, 2011. The Group consists of parent company Sri Lanka Telecom PLC and seven subsidiaries including the company’s mobile arm Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd., (Mobitel).

SriLankan to add Canada, Vietnam to route network

To recommence flights to Melbourne:

SriLankan Airlines is mulling opportunities at flying to two new destinations, Canada and Vietnam and negotiations in this regard will take place next year. The national carrier will once again add Melbourne to their route network from end of this year.

Hayleys six month PBT Rs 3.6 billion

Hayleys PLC has reported profit before tax of Rs 3.6 billion for the six months ending September 30, 2011, nearly triple that of the first half of 2010-11. Improved operational indicators in most key sectors of business and substantial capital gains from disposal of investment by some group companies were contributors to this performance.
