St. Joseph’s Girls School, Nugegoda comfortably beat Good Shepherd
Convent, Kotahena (81-26) at their home courts to climb to the top of
group ‘A’ in the under-19 ‘A’ division girls’ basketball championship
yesterday. They were unbeaten, having defeated all remaining five teams
in group ‘A’.
Eventhough losers opened the account with a three point St. Joseph
girls were quick to gain control with back to back points. The tough

front court.
After posting a 12 point lead in the first quarter (21-09), winners
increased the gap to 20 points at half time (38-18). They tightened
their defense in the third quarter and Shepherdians only scored a
solitary three point while the home team added 23 more points (61-21).
St. Joseph girls continued with the same fashion in the final quarter
and won the match with a huge 55 point margin (81-26).

points each while Bilali Senevirathne added 12 points. Ishika Alles (12
