Over 2,000 athletes for Schools C'ships

Over 2,000 junior athletes from schools in the Kandy District will be seen in action when the annual Schools athletic Championship organized by the Kandy District Athletic Association is worked off at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy on November 4 and 5.

The President of the Kandy District Athletic Association, Tennakoon said that this athletic championship will be sponsored by Munchee Biscuits and the main objective will be for the young athletes to be given the necessary exposure and also to spot talents from schools especially from the backwoods of Kandy.

Apart from athletes from rural schools, leading schools from Kandy like Wallala A Ratnayake Central College, Mahamaya Girls College, Girls High School, Good Shepherd Convent, Pushpadana Girls College, St. Anthony's Girls College, Trinity College, Kingswood College, Dharmaraja College, St. Sylvester's College, St. Anthony's College and Vidyartha College are expected to participate at this Junior Meet.
