For better police - public relations
Public Consultative Committees are to be set up
in all police areas by Police Headquarters to build a better rapport
and co-ordination between police stations and the public and to
convert the Police into a service, gaining public trust and
confidence.

Dompe attack: 10 suspects to be produced today
The Criminal Investigation Department
investigating the recent attack on the Dompe Police Station, will
produce 10 suspects before Gampaha Magistrate and Additional
District Judge Macky Mohamed for an identification parade today. The
CID took into custody 25 suspects who were allegedly involved in the
attack on the Dompe Police station.

Suspect nabbed for jewellery theft
A suspect who had stolen jewellery was arrested
by Ingiriya police yesterday. The suspect aged 28 is a resident of
Baduraliya. Twenty four complaints had been made against him in
Matugama, Bulathsinhala, Kalawana, Ayagama, Nivithigala, Horana,
Thebuwana, Dodangoda, Baduraliya and Ingiriya police.
