Swimming programme for children

A swimming programme for children between five to nine years is being conducted at the Swimming Pool of Sports School, Nattandiya.

In addition to students of the school the children of the fishermen of the area are also following the training programme conducted by swimming coaches from Colombo.

The children who follow the programme will not only learn to swim but will also be able to cope with natural disasters like the tsunami where several children lost their lives due to their inability to swim.

The programme is being co-ordinated by two volunteers of the AGSEP Hana Maier and Tanya Kubecka with the help of the teachers of the sports school, Nattandiya.
