| The second phase of the Divi Neguma
National Programme commenced yesterday at Biyagama,
Obawaththa, Heiyanthuduwa under the patronage of Economic
Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa in Wasantha Kumuduni’s
home garden at the auspicious time of 9.59 a.m. The Divi
Neguma national programme was launched to establish one
million domestic economic units. The project’s main
objective is to uplift the living standard of families,
improve their nutrition level and ensure food safety while
minimizing the cost of living. Deputy Minister Dulip
Wijesekara, Western Provincial Council members Sisira
Jayakody and Shalitha Wijesundara, secretaries of ministries
