Over Rs 10,900 m for infrastructure

Rs 10,976 million has been invested in developing infrastructure
facilities in the Anuradhapura District parallel to the ongoing
reconstruction activities for the Deyata Kirula Exhibition next year,
said Anuradhapura District Secretary Mahinda Senevirathne. The Ports and
Highways Ministry and the Road Development Authority have taken
initiatives to rehabilitate and develop roads in Anuradhapura,
Mihinthale and within the exhibition grounds at a cost of Rs 4,500
million.
Rs 2,700 million has been invested by the Economic Development
Ministry in developing internal roads in the North Central Province. The
Wildlife and Agrarian Services Ministry has invested Rs 200 million to
reconstruct anicuts and canals in the area. The Power and Energy
Ministry has invested Rs 1,500 million to provide electricity supply.
The North Central Provincial Council is investing Rs 615 million in
minor irrigation renovations. He said Rs 550 million has been invested
in irrigation and tank reconstruction. |
