CID to investigate murder of four member family

The investigation into the killing of four people of one family in
Panahaduwa, Udawalawa has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation
Division, police media spokesman SSP Maxi Proctor said. On the advice of
the Inspector General of Police, CID officials have been deployed to
investigate into the incident yesterday.
Four persons in a business family were shot dead on Thursday around
7.30 pm in Panahaduwa, Puhulyaya in Udawalawa. The deceased were a
businessman named Gamini (37), his wife (32) and their two children aged
14 and 8. In addition to CID investigation, a separate investigation is
also being carried out by the Udawalawa Police with the coordination of
Udawalawa Police OIC Chief Inspector DG Karunasensa. Senior DIG Poojitha
Jayasundara has also been sent by the IGP to the Udawalawa area to lead
the Udawalawa police investigation.
Police sources revealed that the investigation teams have received
some information and clues regarding the incident. |
