Korean to build novel hotel in Dambulla

For the first time a Korean entrepreneur will invest in a novel star
class hotel project in Dambulla.

Business said they are initially hoping to invest Rs 20 million for this
project. He said they will build five family homes initially.
“Our concept is family oriented and we will have five themes in each
of these homes,” he said.
One home would have a Korean concept, while the other four chalets
would have Japanese, European, USA and Mongolian touch.
He said they have already obtained land for this project and Tourist
Board approval too has been given. “We are hoping to open this hotel
next year and hope to market each chalet for around US $ 300.” He said
he was also involved with the IAAF games in Daegu, Korea and Sri Lanka
will economically benefit by hosting the Commonwealth Games in
Hambantota in 2018.
“The revenue that IAAF games generated from ticket sales alone was
US$ 4 billion,” he disclosed. In addition traditional industries,
cottage industry, tourism and several other sectors too benefited from
hosting the games and the same benefits will come Sri Lanka’s way when
the country hosts the games. |
