Army Light Infantry Regiment Sports Club emerged champions at the beach volleyball tournament for differently abled, which was worked off at Wadduwa beach recently. The National Volleyball Federation for differently abled conducted the tournament, which saw prominent participation of teams from armed forces. Army Chief of Staff Major General Daya Rathnayake was the chief guest and gave away the awards.

A growing enthusiasm is being experiencing among local differently abled volleyball players after Sri Lanka won the Bronze medal at the 2011 differently abled Volleyball World Cup in Phnom Peng, Cambodia recently.
