Programme to promote indigenous medicine

The Hela Weda Ruwanara programme for indigenous doctors will be held for the fifth time today in Hambantota district under the patronage of Indigenous Medicine Minister Salinda Dissanayake and Deputy Minister Pandu Bandaranayake at the Nibbarama Maha Viharaya.

This programme is organized by the Ayurvedic Practitioners Association with the guidance of the Indigenous Medicine Ministry. This is held to develop the indigenous medicine field as specified in the Mahinda Chinthana Future Vision.

The objectives of the programme are identifying problems of indigenous medicine practitioners and creating awareness on indigenous medicine.

Indigenous Medicine Ministry Secretary Bandula Dahanayake, Ayurvedic Commissioner Palitha Weerakoon and ayurvedic practitioners also participated in the programme.
