UNP in tatters - Dullas

The UNP is today in tatters since a curse has fallen on it for trying to undermine the national time table launched by the President to end 30 years of LTTE terrorism said Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minister Dullas Alahapperuma.

He was addressing a meeting held at Madihe to mark the distribution of self employment tools and equipment among the self employed organized by Provincial Council member Aruna Gunaratne under his decentralized budget scheme. Tools and equipment worth Rs 800,000 were distributed during this ceremony. Minister Alahapperuma said Matara has today seen the fruits of development akin to the Colombo city due to the untiring efforts of the UPFA government.

The President has launched the national development programme to cater to the hopes and aspirations of the future generation. "The President will be in power for the next five years too since the next Presidential election is due only in 2016.

The people of Matara should therefore ensure a UPFA administration in their MC if they desired to join the national development effort and create a pleasant Matara City without political or other petty constitution.
