'People will reassure they are with President'

The people will reassure that they are with President Mahinda Rajapaksa at a time when some elements in greed of Dollars and Euros are attempting to send President for an international tribunal for establishing peace in the country, Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa said.

The minister was speaking at the opening of Nugegoda Janatha Pola where pavement hawkers and those who are engaged in self employment ventures are relocated. The Nugegoda market complex costed Rs. 115 million. He added that the people will give a clear message that people of this country still rally round President Rajapaksa to develop the country.

'Sri Lanka has made tremendous progress in the development field and a number of mega projects are being implemented by the government to develop all sectors in the country.

The minister insisted that the government will provide a helping hand to anyone who aspires to be self-employed. He further urged the business community to safeguard the consumers confidence by adhering to fundamental business ethics. He said that no country has developed after waging a war. Sri Lanka is rapidly moving towards development under the able leadership of the President, he said. The minister thanked the State Engineering Corporation for the construction of the Janatha pola. "A muddy land had to be converted into a fully-developed market complex," he said.

The business complex consists of 202 stalls, parking space storage facilities, water, electricity and sanitary facilities as well as restaurant facilities.
