The people will reassure that they are with President Mahinda
Rajapaksa at a time when some elements in greed of Dollars and Euros are
attempting to send President for an international tribunal for
establishing peace in the country, Economic Development Minister Basil
Rajapaksa said.
The minister was speaking at the opening of Nugegoda Janatha Pola
where pavement hawkers and those who are engaged in self employment
ventures are relocated. The Nugegoda market complex costed Rs. 115
million. He added that the people will give a clear message that people
of this country still rally round President Rajapaksa to develop the
country.
'Sri Lanka has made tremendous progress in the development field and
a number of mega projects are being implemented by the government to
develop all sectors in the country.
The minister insisted that the government will provide a helping hand
to anyone who aspires to be self-employed. He further urged the business
community to safeguard the consumers confidence by adhering to
fundamental business ethics. He said that no country has developed after
waging a war. Sri Lanka is rapidly moving towards development under the
able leadership of the President, he said. The minister thanked the
State Engineering Corporation for the construction of the Janatha pola.
"A muddy land had to be converted into a fully-developed market
complex," he said.
The business complex consists of 202 stalls, parking space storage
facilities, water, electricity and sanitary facilities as well as
restaurant facilities. |
