Fire destroys over 40 acres of forest reserve

Wildlife officers brought under control a fire that broke out at Lihiniyagala Kanda in the Walapane Divisional Secretariat area on Wednesday evening.

The fire had destroyed almost 40 acres of the Lihinyagala forest reserve.

Meanwhile, another fire broke out near 1/20 culvert in the Endiriyawatta GN division in Hanguranketha which is next to Lihiniyagala around 2 pm yesterday.
