Sri Lanka in group ‘C’ of T20 World cup

Hosts Sri Lanka, South Africa and Zimbabwe have been placed in the same preliminary group (Group C) for next year’s World Twenty20 tournament here, the sport’s governing body said on Wednesday. Australia, West Indies and a qualifier are drawn in group B and Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh in group D.

Airmen trounce Wattala BC

Air Force BC defeated Wattala BC (66-34) quite comfortably in their Carlton Cup division ‘A’ Basketball match at the Police Depot yesterday. Airmen were in total control from the beginning and scored 17 point against 14 from losers in the first quarter. They tightened their grip in the second quarter and lead 35-20 at half time.

Kegalu Vidyalaya recovered from a disastrous position to total 184 all out on the first day of their inter-school cricket match against Vidyartha College which began at Police Ground, Kandy yesterday. The match will be continued today at 9.30 a.m.
