President at meeting with Muslims:
City uplift not at citizens’ expense
*External facelift not sufficient without improving living
standards
*Better houses at same locations
The measures at beautifying Colombo would not be
at the expense of city dwellers,President Mahinda Rajapaksa said on
Saturday. The President noted that an external facelift to the city
would not be sufficient without uplifting the people’s living
standards.

UNP candidate joins UPFA
Mohammed Feroz Mohommed Favaz, who was to
contest the Colombo Municipal Council on the UNP ticket pledged his
support to the UPFA and joined the party on Saturday. He called on
President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees and pledged to ensure
victory for the UPFA and its mayoral candidate Milinda Moragoda.
