Rowing Nationals from September 15 to 17

The All Island-National Rowing Championship, the only annual rowing event conducted at national level, will take place from September 15 to 17 on the Bolgoda Lake.

Organised by the Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka (ARASL), this three day regatta will witness the participation of crews representing the Sri Lanka Forces - Army Navy and Air Force, Universities, Local and International Schools and Rowing Clubs Different age categories will vie for victory over a 2000 metre course, with 4 boats rowing abreast, based on international sporting standards, where the honour of 'National Rowing Champion' will be bestowed on the winners of the OPEN Category.

This year's event is proudly partnered by Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel a long-standing supporter of the sport of Rowing. A Key factor this year is that the ARASL has embarked on an ambitious programme to develop a national level pool of Oarsmen & oarswomen to vie for a wildcard at the 2012 Olympics. The highly competitive performances expected to be seen this year, will showcase the best talent in this pool.
