Mahindra looks for more in Lanka

To introduce hybrid vehicles soon:

Sri Lanka is the biggest export market for Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd of India, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Anand G. Mahindra said. Speaking to Daily News Business he said they have a phenomenal growth increase of 700 percent as against the previous year.

Record improvement in Global Competitiveness Ranking - CCC

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is pleased to note the remarkable improvement Sri Lanka has made over the past three years in the Global Competitiveness Ranking of the World Economic Forum from 79 in 2009/10, 62 in 2010/11 to 52 in 2011/12.

Lanka will be the next Singapore - Mahindra

Sri Lanka is a very exciting country and it will soon become the next Singapore, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd Vice Chairman and Managing Director Anand G. Mahindra said. He said when he first visited Sri Lanka in 1981 he expressed the same sentiments. “However the volatile political climate that prevailed put a pause to Sri Lanka becoming the next Singapore,” Mahindra said.

The Seylan Bank and the Ceylon Bank Employees Union signed a collective agreement on Thursday which will be effective from June 1 this year to December 31 next year. Under this agreement which followed protracted negotiations all employees of Seylan Bank will be entitled to a 15.25 percent salary increment and many other non salary benefits. Chairman Seylan Bank E Narangoda, General Manager Kapila Ariyaratne, Senior Deputy Manager H P S T Jebaratnam and Assistant General Manager H R Jayantha Pathirana, CBEU President Amarapala Gamage, Acting General Secretary Channa Dissanayake, Treasurer R M Abeyratne, CBEU Seylan Bank branch President Mahinda Jayaweera and Kanishka Weerasinghe of the Employees’ Federation were also present on the occasion.
