Pascucci opens in Colombo 7

The Universal Consultancy Services Ltd opened “Pascucci” an Italian
Cafe and Restaurant in Colombo with an investment of Rs 40 million.

Addressing the media at a press conference at the newly opened cafe
on Wijerama Mawatha Colombo 7 , Universal Group Managing Director and
CEO. Dr Sujeewa Lokuhewa said Pascucci is one of the fastest growing
brands in Europe and the company has been holding the franchise in the
UK for the last eight years.
Having seen the potential in Sri Lanka after a market survey the
company decided to give that experience to Sri Lankan customers, he
said.
The Pascucci chain covers a number of countries in the world and the
200th branch in the chain was opened in Sri Lanka last week.
The company is planning to open three more branches in key cities in
the near future.
The restaurant will serve the best of espresso, lattes, cappuccino
and other select beverages and a few varieties of tea such as green tea
and organic tea apart from their main item.
The menu will have a variety of pasta and pizza as well, Pascucci
Director Caimi Stefano said. The company has signed a MOU with Sampath
Bank to obtain credit card facilities for their customers.
The Group Chairman Nalaka Edirisinghe said the company diversified
into the beverage sector from real estate during the economic downturn
and now looking at the Indian market in the beverage sector. |
