Jamaican relay quartet set up a world record
Invincible Jamaican sprinters accounted for the
only world record broken at the 13th IAAF World Championships which
concluded in Daegu Stadium here today. The Jamaican quartet made
sure that the Daegu World Championship reaches its climax on the
final day, shattering the World record in the 4x100m relay, clocking
37.04 seconds in the final event of the nine-day World athletic
extravaganza on Sunday night.

year old Californian Courtney Conlouge walked away with the women’s

international surfing competition finals on the superb waves of

Air Force storm into semis with last minute try
A last minute try by Air Force centre Radhika
Hettiarachchi which was converted by himself enabled Air Force to
enter the semi-finals of the Caltex Clifford Cup knock-out rugby
tournament with a thrilling 27 points (two goals, two tries, one
penalty) to 25 (two goals, one try, two penalties) win over CR and
FC in the quarter-final played at Royal Sports Complex yesterday
after leading 13-6 at the breather.
