CSC rises and shines in September

The investors should actively participate at the Colombo Stock Market transactions during this month as September has been the most attractive month for market performance.

According to Bloomberg analysis data pertaining to the Colombo Stock Exchange the stock market performance between the years 2000 to 2010, it is clear that month of September has been the most attractive month in terms of market performance, Sri Jayawardenepura University Finance Department Prof Harandra Dissabandara told Daily News Business. September will be a good month for investors compared to last two, three months where market volatility prevailed, he said.

It is expected that market participants will wisely behave in the market with a positive mind. There is a moderate improvement with regard to the level of responses of the market participants to availability of information.

The investors need to evaluate their trading decisions to make wise investment transformation, he said. The regulatory agencies encourage more retail investors to participate in the stock market as currently the trading is dominated by a few corporate investors.
