SLIIT begins IT, Business Management and Electronic Engineering degree enrolment

SLIIT, recognised as the leading institute for Information Technology in Sri Lanka offers degree programmes in Business Management and Electronic Engineering which are awarded by SLIIT's affiliated universities, thus broadening students' academic prospects.

The institute has commenced enrolment for the new academic year and seeks to nurture a new generation of experts who will contribute towards boosting the workforce in these related industries.

SLIIT has been recognised as the largest IT degree awarding institute in the country which provides a broad scope of academic opportunities for students.

The institute more recently expanded its academic offerings to include Electronic Engineering and Business Management (with partner universities Sheffield Hallam University and Curtin University), two vital fields which play a key role in the development and progress of Sri Lanka.

The institute has carved out numerous pathways which allow students to complete their degree entirely in Sri Lanka or abroad, depending on their choice.

SLIIT's impressive line-up of partner universities are situated in the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom, and these include Sheffield Hallam University (UK), Monash University (Australia), and Curtin University and Southeast Missouri State University (U.S), to name a few.

"Within the span of a decade in fostering quality tertiary education, SLIIT has produced over 15,000 IT professionals to the nation (nearly a half of the country's skilled IT workforce), and we have seen a surge in numbers for the institutes more recently introduced Business Management and Electronic Engineering degrees which are conducted in partnership with our foreign affiliates" SLIIT Chairman Prof. S. Karunaratne said.

SLIIT recently introduced three new undergraduate programs, namely the Bsc. Hons in Information Technology specialising in Software Engineering (duration - 4 years and awarded by SLIIT), the Bsc. in Software Engineering (awarded by Curtin University, Australia), and the BEng (Hons) degree in Computer Systems Engineering, awarded by Curtin University.

SLIIT has established centres at, Matara, Kandy and Jaffna, while the main campuses are situated in Malabe and Colpetty, Colombo.
