CNCI Achiever Awards 2011:
Ready for grand finale
The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) the pioneering
national industry chamber will be organizing the Achiever Awards 2011
for industrial and service excellence for the tenth consecutive year.
The awards presentation in 2011, will take place on August 30, at the
Hotel Cinnamon Grand.
The popular Achiever Awards was specifically designed by the CNCI for
the first time ten years ago, to reward the industrial and manufacturing
sector enterprises of Sri Lanka. The objective of the concept is to
recognize the best overall performers in the industrial and the
manufacturing sectors in their respective spheres of operations in Sri
Lanka and to reward them for their performance excellence, so that they
are encouraged to march forward to achieve further heights.
As stated by the CNCI, the response for the Achiever awards in 2011
and the popularity of the awards has increased over 100% for the past
three years.
The highlight of this year 2011 Achiever competition is that a Large
number of the Extra Large sector companies, who are well established,
reputed and credible, corporate sector enterprises, entering into the
competition and creating a big challenge to the panel of judges.
The CNCI Achiever Awards competition mainly focus attention towards
the overall operational Excellence of Industrial and Manufacturing
Enterprises. Other specialty is that the CNCI was the first National
Chamber to recognize the operational excellence of Sri Lankan companies
that operate in the SAARC Region, as well as the nominated companies of
the SAARC region, who are approved and recommended by the respective
Chambers of industry and commerce in their respective countries, namely
in India , Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives .
Another special feature of the Achiever awards is the special
emphasis granted to the small and micro industrial services enterprises
in the Northern and Eastern Regions.
The Districts of Jaffna and Batticaloa and the Wanni Region has been
designated as specific difficult regions, and the opportunity is granted
to all enterprises operating in these regions to participate in the
Achiever Awards Competition. The overall success of participation of
Tamil speaking small/ micro enterprises last year, has promoted the CNCI
to provide more opportunities to them this year.
