Meritorious act by Bus Sangam

Route No. 125 Ingiriya-Pettah-Ingiriya, Maharagama Private Bus Sangam in a special programme on Esala Poya day, provided free transport for passengers to travel to and from Ingiriya and Kelaniya.

Padukka-Maharagama, Padukka-Pettah, Horana-Ingiriya and Bulathsinhala-Ingiriya buses participated in this meritorious act.

Around 50 buses joined in this programme and over 1,000 people received free transportation.

The first bus took off from Ingiriya town at 4.30 am and the last bus left from Kelaniya temple at 8.30 p.m.

There were 120 bus turns which travelled to and from Ingiriya and Kelaniya on this day. Devotees who observed sil at Kelaniya temple were provided free transportation.

They were offered breakfast and lunch.

A dansala was also organised by the Ingiriya Private Bus Sangam at Ingiriya town.
