People's Bank Corporate Branch marks Golden Jubilee

The People's Bank Corporate Banking Division located at the Lake House building celebrated its 50th anniversary in a grand scale with the participation of over 50 numbers of prime customers and retired staff members who joined the Bank in early stages of its establishment in 1961 at the branch premises on July 1.

The bank has paid their floral tribute to the founders of the People's Bank, former Prime Minister - Late Sirimavo Dias Bandaranaike, the Former Minister of Commerce, Trade, Food and Navigation Affairs Late T.B. Illangaratna, first Chairman of the Bank Late Vincent Subasinghe and the first General Manager of the Bank Late W.H.Solomons.

The Deputy General Manager (Corporate and International Banking) Chandani Werapitiya highlighted the People's Bank's five decade unparalleled service to the nation and thanked all stakeholders for the enthusiastic support and co-operation extended to the Bank during last 50 years.

A felicitation of selected customers and retired staff members appreciating their trustworthiness and dedication was also held at the same time.
