Eighteen of the thirty six Registered Finance and Leasing Companies
have already been listed on the floor of the Colombo Stock Exchange.
Of the remaining eighteen companies, eleven companies have applied
for a listing to the Stock Exchange and it is most likely that they will
get the nod.
The remaining seven companies have asked for time extensions for the
listings and they have been granted so, top official sources told Daily
News Business yesterday.
This is in accordance with the mandatory requirement of the Central
Bank of Sri Lanka regulations that all Registered Finance and Leasing
Companies should get a Colombo Stock Exchange listing on or before June
30.
These registration details were revealed at a meeting that Central
Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal had with the CEOs of all 36
Registered Finance and Leasing Companies on Friday afternoon.
This is a quarterly meeting the Central Bank Governor has with the
Finance and Leasing Companies. |
