Govt to submit paper on TNA issues

The government delegation held the seventh round of discussions with the delegation representing the Tamil National Alliance on June 23 at the Presidential Secretariat.

The government delegation consisted of Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva, G L Pieris and Parliamentarians Sajin de Vass Gunawardena and Rajiva Wijesinha. The TNA was represented by R Sampanthan, M Sumanthiran, S Premachandran, M Senathirajah and Kanage-iswaran, PC. The government delegation responded to some aspects of the proposals submitted by the TNA in writing.

At the conclusion of the discussion which ensued, the government delegation agreed to submit a paper containing its proposals to the issues identified and discussed.

It was agreed that the next meeting will take place on June 29, 2011.
