Free German expertise for business community

SES relaunched in Lanka:

Senior Experten Service (SES), Foundation of German Industry for International Cooperation, which offers free advice and knowledge to the business communities worldwide, has relaunched its services in Sri Lanka.

The areas of expertise that SES could offer are in factory and plant management, tourism, and hospitality, different sectors of manufacturing, education, vocational training and agri-business. The focus of SES is to develop private sector SMEs that can benefit from its assistance.

This service which commenced in Sri Lanka from the early 1980s and has been operating here till 2008, has been re-launched and all state and private sector entities who want free expertise could avail themselves of this facility, the SES spokesman in Sri Lanka told Daily News Business yesterday.

He said that more than 120 assignments were carried out by SES experts in Sri Lanka upto now. It has an extensive global presence from the 1980s SES has completed nearly 15000 projects in 160 countries. Top management SES experts are drawn from almost every industrial sector.

SES is a non profit corporation established under the auspices of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce with funding from Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development(BMZ).

The SES sources said that to be in line with the German government and its annual negotiations, the BMZ agrees upon key development sectors for its priority.

The SES was requested to extend its activities to these key sectors as well SES main focus for Sri Lanka will be business and employment development and SME sector.

In the Tourism and Hospitality sectors a total of 30 hotels have been provided with SES Experts services in F and B, room division etc.. The product and services quality improvement that have taken place in assisted hotels had resulted in enhanced efficiency, increased tourist bookings and resultant increase in revenue generation.
