Being on par with the Sri Sambuddhathva Jayanthi celebrations taking
place in the country, a crew of popular film stars escorted by princess
Mom Luang of the Thailand Royal family visited the sacred temple of the
tooth at Kandy recently.
The Thai princess and the crew also had a mutually prospective
discussion with Sri Lanka Tourism Promotions Bureau’s Managing Director
Rumy Jauffer about promoting Sri Lanka as an attractive film
destination. The crew was offered a warm hospitality by the Mahaweli
Reach Hotel.
These film stars arrived in Sri Lanka last week to participate in the
Sri Sambuddhathva Jayanthi film festival and to sign up initial
agreements for producing the film Siddhartha - the Buddha which narrates
