TRC mulls tariff reduction

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) is hoping for a tariff reduction in broadband and mobile facilities in the local telecommunication industry. “We see a drastic tariff reduction in prices of mobile and broadband facilities in the country and as the regulatory body in the telecommunication industry in Sri Lanka, we are planning to reduce the prices of all these services in the future,” Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka Consultant Dr Manodha Gamage said.

HDFC housing loans increase by 100 percent

The HDFC Bank has recorded a 100 percent growth in granting housing loans during the first quarter. The number of loans granted during the period increased from 1,849 to 3,706. This resulted in generating around Rs 1.1 billion which was Rs 503 million last year.

EFC, CMU sign historic collective agreement

Veteran Tampoe inks signature since 1961:

The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC) and Ceylon Mercantile Union (CMU) signed the ninth revised Collective Agreement in its 50th year after the initial agreement signed in 1961. The agreement covers clerical and supervisory staff salaries and agreed to do away with cost of living payment.
