New Year boon for SLTB

The SLTB has posted an additional income of Rs 105 million during the Sinhala and Hindu New Year period from April 8 to 13, said SLTB Chairman M D Bandusena.

He said the daily income during this period was Rs 55 million which was about 15 million more than the usual daily income earned during other days. This was mainly due to the introduction of several special bus services to cater to the travelling public during the New Year season under the direction of Transport Minister Kumara Welgama.

The operation of an efficient and successful bus service by the SLTB enabled people to visit their villages and return to workplaces without any hassle, he added.
