Kalutara Vidyalaya lad becomes 11th SL captain:
Dilshan to lead in all forms of the game
The new Sri Lanka Test and one-day Cricket
Captain is Tillekeratne Dilshan. The Sri Lankan Cricket Selectors
comprising Duleep Mendis (chairman), Brendon Kuruppu, Ranjit
Madurusinghe, Don Anurasiri and Chaminda Mendis who met yesterday
were unanimous in their choice and gave Dilshan the nod. Dilshan
replaces Kumar Sangakkara. Sangakkara who resigned as the one-day
captain after the 2011 World Cup debacle in Mumbai, had said that he
was available to lead the country in Test cricket if required.

impressive all-round performance, but failed to stop Delhi
Daredevils from posting a thrilling three-wicket win in the Indian
Premier League on Sunday. In another match, Kolkata Knight Riders
defeated Shane Warne’s Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets for their

New skirt rules cause unease
A new ruling that requires female badminton
players to wear skirts on court is causing unease among players as
they prepare to adopt the new compulsory dress code. The Indian
Open, which begins next Tuesday, will be the last tournament in
which women can wear shorts on court before the skirt requirement
comes into force on May 1.
