Special panel to proof read textbooks

The Education Publications Department will hand over the task of proof reading of 2012 school textbooks to a panel of intellectuals before handing them over for printing.

Education Publications Department's Commissioner General W M N J Pushpakumara said that the department had so far handed over 441 school textbooks that are to be printed for the next academic year to the panel for proof reading.

A different panel has been appointed for each subject. The panel consists of various intellectuals, including university professors, teaching instructors, Education Ministry officials and teachers.

Pushpakumara noted that these intellectuals will proof read the textbooks and make any changes and improvements where necessary after consultation.
