The weapons seized by the Police Special Task Force


Weapons haul in Vavuniya

The Police Special Task Force seized a haul of weapons including five claymore mines in Vavuniya during search operations conducted on Wednesday and Thursday. The haul included claymore mines, RPG rounds, detonators, Arul bombs, hand grenades and anti personnel mines.

Two fleeing prisoners arrested

The police arrested two inmates out of three who tried to escape the Jaffna prison yesterday. According to Prisons Commissioner Major General VR de Silva, two inmates were serving a jail sentence for a murder in Point Pedro, and the other robbery.

Police arrest teen over shooting

A 19-year-old is being questioned over the gang shooting of five-year-old Thusha Kamaleswaran. Thusha along with shopkeeper Roshan Selvakumar, were innocent bystanders caught up in crime war crossfire inside a Stockwell shop.
