Sahan Amarasinghe’s excellent bowling figures of 4/40 was the
highlight on the opening day as the D S Senanayake College skittled out
Mahanama College for just 148 runs in their first innings during the
fifth annual Big Match match at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground
yesterday.
DSS’s skipper Thusith Silva won the toss and invited Mahanama College
to bat first.
The DSS bowlers kept the batsmen under control and never let them to
go for big partnerships. Hashan Perera was the only Mahanama batsman who

the 25-run mark and the highest partnership was the last wicket stand of
28 runs.

67/4 as bad light halted the play early in their first innings.
