Police nab cattle thieves

Seven persons suspected of steeling eight buffaloes from a government farm were arrested by Kurunegala police yesterday. The suspects were arrested with the stolen buffaloes. This raid was conducted on a tip-off by a Buddhist monk. It was reported that over 1,500 milch cows, heifers, calves, bulls and buffaloes were stolen by this organised gang of cattle robbers.

LTTE drug trafficker arrested in Mumbai

India’s Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad has arrested a Sri Lankan drug peddler, with suspected links to the LTTE from a hideout in Navi Mumbai. The accused Rajan Silithuriya alias Rajan alias Kartik had been picked up from his hideout in Kopar Khairane area of Navi Mumbai.
