One dies in shooting incident

Elections Senior DIG Gamini Navaratne yesterday warned political parties against going in processions or having meetings or demonstrations on main roads following the conclusion of the elections.

Senior DIG Navaratne said baring a few minor incidents yesterday’s election was held in a peaceful atmosphere.

According to the police headquarters one person was killed in an incident in the Ahangama Police area.

Police have deployed special squads on main roads to avoid any incidents after the polling, Senior DIG Navaratne said.
