Applications called for

The Cultural Affairs Department has called for applications for the Annual Kalabhushana Awards from veteran artistes over 60 years of age to felicitate their services for the year 2011.

Qualified artistes for the Kalabhushana Awards will be selected at Provincial Secretariat level throughout the country.

Authors, traditional artistes who are veterans in subjects like arts, sculpturing, carvings, Laksha, weaving, puppetry, drama, dancing, drummers, musicians, and all traditional artistes can apply for Kalabhushana Awards. Only artistes who are over 60 years can apply for this Award through their District or Divisional Secretaries. Applicants should provide copies of certificates with approval of Districts or Divisional Secretaries.

The closing date is May 30 Applications can be obtained from District Secretariat offices, Divisional Secretariat offices and the Cultural Affairs Departments 8th Floor, Sethsiripaya, Batttarmaulla by sending a Self Addressed Envelope, further details can be obtained on telephone No 011-2872031.
