Market dips

The Colombo bourse continued to remain low yesterday with the force selling regulation dominating the market.

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) All Share Price (ASPI) closed at 7,343.45 points by moving down by 102.44 points while Milanka Price Index (MPI) closed at 6,847.34 points, losing 86.02 points. The turnover for the day was over Rs 2.3 billion.

There were 15 crossings among high valued stocks traded were John Keels Holdings (10), Royal Ceramics (2), Ceylinco Insurance, Tokyo Cement (non-voting) and Seylan Bank(non voting).

John Keells Holdings, Royal Ceramics, Ceylinco Insurance, Lankem Development and Laugfs Gas were the top gainers for the day.

High networth individuals and institutional interest was seen in the market. (CdeS)
