Cop among fertilizer pilferers
Five suspects including a police officer who were
taking a consignment of 100 bags of subsidized fertilizer to be sold
were arrested at Walapane Keerthi Bandara Pura by the Walapane
police.

Vice squad swoops on brothels
The Walana Vice Squad yesterday raided two
brothels, one owned by an ex-Police officer and took into custody 11
women. Police also arrested the two managers of the brothels.

Three nabbed with stolen cash, jewellery
Anuradhapura police arrested three suspects who
stole jewellery and money from a house at Basawakkulama,
Anuradhapura recently. The suspects had entered the house of a
flower dealer and stole Rs 28,000 and jewellery.
