Vice squad swoops on brothels

The Walana Vice Squad yesterday raided two brothels, one owned by an ex-Police officer and took into custody 11 women.

Police also arrested the two managers of the brothels.

Police raided the two brothels at Dummaladeniya and Dankotuwa in Wennappuwa following a search warrant obtained from Marawila Magistrate Chandana Kalansuriya. The women were between the ages of 20 and 35, Police said the women were from Anuradhapura, Matara, Dehiattakandiya, Padiyathalawa, Kalutara and Negombo.
