Three nabbed with stolen cash, jewellery

Anuradhapura police arrested three suspects who stole jewellery and money from a house at Basawakkulama, Anuradhapura recently.

The suspects had entered the house of a flower dealer and stole Rs 28,000 and jewellery.

Police nabbed the main suspect in Maharagama for possessing heroin who confessed to the burglary at Basawakkulama.

He was handed over to Anuradhapura police for further investigations.

Meanwhile, police arrested another two suspects with Rs 48,000, gold chains, bracelets, rings, earrings and gold coins weighing 23 pounds. Meanwhile, police are on the look for another suspect who is hiding in Nochchiyagama. NCP Senior DIG Jayantha Gamage is directing investigations. SSP Nanda Wijerathna, ASP Raja Wickramanayake, CI Gamini Jayasinghe and IP Weerasuriya are conducting investigations.
