Deserters nabbed for theft
Two army deserters allegedly involved in a series
of jewellery thefts in Akuressa, Kamburupitiya, Dikwella, Gandara,
Thihagoda, Matara and other areas in the Matara district were nabbed
at Wathukolakanda in Kirinda by Thihagoda police.

CID told to obtain instructions
The Colombo Chief Magistrate and Additional
District Judge directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID}
to obtain instructions from the Attorney General in connection with
Velayudan Dayanidhi alias Daya Master and former LTTE translator
Velupillai Kumaru Pancharatnam alias George Master and submit a
report to Court on the next date. The two former LTTE leaders
yesterday appeared in Court.
