Trained police officers should extend the greatest-possible service
to the people, IGP Mahinda Balasuriya said. The IGP was addressing the
passing out parade of 336 police constables and women police constables
at the Aluvihara grounds in the Police College, Kalutara recently.
He said police officers who step into society after completing a
training course should endeavour to serve the public to the best of
their ability.
They should make it their prime duty, he stated.
The IGP pointed that he should be thankful to Police Constables’
parents, because they have been undergone sufficient inconvenience
during the past.
Now they are quite happy with their kith and kin because the war in
the North and East is over.
In the near future another batch of the North and East boys and girls
are to be enlisted as police officers, he said. Deputy Director Gragray
Cooray and amateur trainee Gunaratnam Gunarajan also spoke. |
