CSE branches:

Daily turnover increases

The branch network of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has recorded a significant growth during the last year The average daily turnover during the last year in the Negombo branch was Rs 40.26 million. The branch recorded Rs 5.56 million in 2009 and this is an increase of 624 percent.

Sri Lankan ICT market:

Behaviour similar to developed markets

The Sri Lankan ICT industry is showing tremendous growth as a result of increasing demand from the consumers. Sri Lanka managed to sell over 350000 computers by 2009 and is expected to sell 650000 personnel computers by 2014. The mobile communications industry is recording around 20 to 25 percent growth per annum.

Noritake focusing on Indian market

Noritake will focus on the Indian market this year as there is a huge potential for Bone China products which were introduced to Sri Lanka last year. Noritake Lanka Porcelain Executive Consultant Nimal Perera told Daily News Business that the number of Indian visitors coming to Sri Lanka has increased remarkably and most of them go back to India at least with a 17 piece tea set which costs Rs 40,000 purchased from Noritake show rooms.
