Rations for Batticaloa

Five lorries with dry rations collected by the Jaffna University students and the Divisional officers have left for Batticaloa to be distributed to the flood victims.

The foodstuffs collected by the Jaffna university students were taken in three lorries while the foodstuffs collected by the Divisional officers were taken in two lorries under the supervision of the Jaffna Government Agent.

The Jaffna Secretariat officers gave their day’s salary amounting to Rs 1,560,000. The Jaffna university students union despatched foodstuffs worth Rs 3,500,000.
