Navy assists Indian fishermen in distress

The Sri Lanka Navy assisted an Indian fishing boat in distress in Sri Lankan waters on December 27. The boat with four Indian fishermen onboard had begun to drift due to engine failure putting the lives of the Indian fishing crew in peril.

More houses for Police personnel

The housing problem of police personnel will be solved very soon. The Police Department had made all arrangements to acquire bare State lands to build houses for the police personnel, IGP Mahinda Balasuriya said addressing the media at the Police Headquarters Tuesday.
