Gampaha Municipal Council's budget passed

The annual budget 2011 of the Gampaha Municipal Council with an anticipated income of Rs 164,485,264 and an estimated expenditure of Rs 164,416,915 with a surplus of Rs 48,349 was passed by a majority of 3 votes at a special meeting of the MC Council.

Mayor Eranga Senanayaka (UNP) presided 6 members voted for the budget, while the 3 JVP members voted against the budget. The six UNP members abstained from voting.
