Haiti cholera death toll at 2,707
The Haitian Health Ministry Monday reported 2,707
deaths from cholera in the country, also with 128,251 infected
people since the outbreak of the epidemic in October. The Health
Ministry said that the disease has spread throughout the country,
but it is worse in the northern department of Artibonite, where it
broke out and the bacterium Vibrio cholerae was found in the river
with the same name.

Ship set to sail with Gaza aid
An aid ship backed by Asian activists will soon
set sail for the blockaded Gaza Strip from Syria, a spokesman for
Palestinian groups based in Syria said Monday. The Sierra
Leone-flagged Asia 1 is awaiting the green light from Egypt to sail
to the Egyptian port of El-Arish from where its cargo is to be
carried over land to Gaza, Khaled Abdel-Majid told AFP.
